In an age where all things digital rule out lives… We. Are. Obsessed.
We’re the guilty ones who wear our phones as an extension of our hand. We find ourselves constantly plugged into a smart device at all times. Our phone is the first thing we look at when we wake up and the last thing we use before bed. And we can’t seem to stop during the times in between.
Just like everyone takes a vacation from work, it can also be healthy to take a break from technology every once in a while. That means work emails, selfies, social media, everything. And we’re even saying this as a digitally-based company.
Everyone deserves a digital detox, and we’re here to tell you some of the coolest places to unplug and recharge. (Get it?)
So long, Facebook. Buh-bye, Insta. Tweet ya later, Twitter.
If places like these exist in the world, we should all take tech breaks to enjoy them. Often.
CAMP GROUNDED
The Digital Detox company sponsors an adults-only camp where grown ups trade in their computers and cell phones for traditional summer camp activities like arts & crafts, yoga, capture the flag, and kickball.
The company also travels the country doing speaking series, hands-on workshops, and device-free parties to inspire groups of people to look up from their device, slow down, and enjoy what’s around them.
FAR-AWAY TRAVEL
A serene lake and mountainous skyline is the perfect combination for a detox vacation.
Stay at The Grand Hotel Tremezzo in Lake Como, Italy to enjoy some of the world’s most picturesque views. Enjoy a Grand Detox massage at the spa, lounge poolside, or embrace Euro’s va-cay vibes with a water skiing adventure.
With so many options for relaxation, there will be no time for FOMO, selfies, or otherwise.
SURF’S UP
If you’re a sun, surf, and sand aficionado and looking to disconnect, unplug at one of the top surfing beaches in Latin America. Santa Catalina is a hidden paradise in Panama with very little to do but enjoy the big blue sea and a breathtaking surf.
The Oasis Surf Camp is the only beachfront hotel on the island is secluded and free from everything tech if you want it to be.
Stay in a beach-side bungalow just steps from the ocean and enjoy surf lessons from friendly instructors.
